It was our FIRST time to celebrate New Year
without our family... sad but it was still a worthwhile celebration since we were together.
31st, we started to prepare a little food for the New Year's celebration, I guess a little food would be enough since there's only the two of us :) We prepared: Tacos
, Fruit Salad
, Macaroni Salad, Buttered Potato, Ham
and we got soft drinks
.... it was actually more than we both could consume for the night....
On the eve of New Year, just before midnight, fire-crackers
The aftermath of almost 30 minutes of the blasting fireworks and fire-crackers? SMOG, and more than 80 incidents of fire cracker related injuries! Some just wounded, worse, some fingers would have to be cut-off.... ouch! No matter how much the government reminded not to use fire crackers or be responsible when you use one, this year's celebration had more incidents that last years', talk about not LEARNING
from experience. Then there's the TRASH. I wonder is this really how we wanted to start the New Year? Streets with trash and air with smog?
Anyway, while all were busy outside, me and Tutel were celebrating inside... eating our prepared feast and enjoying a movie.... I guess it didn't matter whether we celebrated in a simple way, what matters is that we enjoyed being together and that we started the New year TOGETHER.
For the New Year we bought ourselves new shirts that are identical. "Terno" as we say in Filipino (meaning same design)... Spongebob
t-shirts :) that we wore for work on 01 January 2010. Yes, there is work on New Years Day (probably true for any airlines in the world).
