FUN TRAVEL: 5 years after…

It’s been a while since my last entry... and it's been also about 2 years since we traveled by air.  The past year was limited to land travels as we adjust to parenting C.  We worry about how he would behave during the trips and we worry about the chances of diaper changes during the trip.  For our 5th anniversary, C would be 13 months and we decided to take him on his first flight and re-visit Boracay.

3 months earlier, we have already reserved our hotel, bought plane tickets for our return flight and considered taking chances on our flight to Boracay. Fast forward… we finally made our first trip together as a family and it was FUN and memorable!

1st day, Sunday.

We headed for the airport to catch the first flight to Caticlan, Boracay.  We were flying as chance passengers as benefit for working with an airline but it was a Sunday, and getting onboard to Boracay was hassle-free.

At the airport, C was very active.  Walking to one direction to another, following other kids and toddlers roaming around the pre-departure area.  He was too tired and fell asleep even before we boarded the aircraft.

The whole flight he was asleep.  We didn’t have the chance to see how he would behave inside the plane.  He woke up just before we landed and thought he did not know that we were inside an airplane.  As we alighted from the stairs, it seemed he recognized the airplane behind us as he pointed to it.

Arriving at Boracay, we were taken by bus to the terminal.  The parking bay of the newly extended airport was at the far remote end of the run-way facing the ocean.  Construction of the new terminal is on-going, but I guess that would take some more years before completion.

C's first boat ride.  We didn’t know how he would react to riding a boat with the engines roaring loudly as it cuts rapidly through the waters.  But he stayed calm and curious.  At least he’s not afraid with the ride.

20 minutes after, we arrived at our resort/hotel.  We checked-in, settled into our room, roamed around the area and ate lunch.

We took some time napping in the afternoon before we headed to Station 2 to walk by the beach, re-visit shops and eat dinner.

Boracay never fails to paint beautiful sunsets

After heading back to our hotel, we spent some time walking around the area at night before we ended the day with a good night’s sleep.  Our first day was already filled with FUN… C's many firsts.

2nd Day, Monday

Our 5th Anniversary.

After our breakfast, we signed-up for an Eco-Tour… to see more of the area.  Another couple also signed for the tour.  They shared their stories and we had a fun chatting as we roam around through the tour.

The resort is a haven for many tropical trees, plants and flowers.  What a good job of maintaining the gardens and landscapes.  As tour ended near the beach, we took some time just looking at the beach area.

After resting some time in our room.  We headed for the pool for C's first swim.  The smile on his face shows that he's enjoying every moment of his pool experience.

Then before heading back to our room, we decided to bring him to the beach.  Water was cold but he seems don't mind it a bit.

For dinner,  we arranged for Fine Dining in one of the resort's Restaurants... meal was great! And as we have accepted for the past year, dining was never the same with the little one... every dining is a new experience itself... you never know how he will behave... like sleeping on us during dinner :)

The next day, after breakfast, we went out for the beach and pool to maximize our stay.

In the afternoon, we headed back to the airport for our return flight.  This time he was awake for the duration of the flight.  He often played around. Standing, transferring back and forth between me and Tutel... but he behaved well most of the time.

This travel was filled with firsts.  C's, and also ours.  I know that our next travel will never be the same! It will be more exciting and FUN as we spend it with our little one!

Until our next Adventure!
