RE-VISITING THE CITY OF PINES WITH TUTEL'S SISTERS

Last weekend, we planned a vacation to Baguio with Tutel's sisters.  It would be a re-visit for us (for the nth time, haha! Just love the place!), but a first for them.  (You can read about our previous Baguio Adventures here >>1. Baguio City 2. PMA  3. Revisit )

Now, let the story of our journey begin.

We took the 11:55pm Victory Liner trip from Pasay to Baguio... arrived at 6:30am... and Baguio, as always, has welcomed us with her cold morning breeze, beautiful greenery and flowers.  I demonstrated that "smoke" comes from my mouth when I exhale, just a simple way to say that it is cold.

We headed to my mom's flat and decided to settle for a while ... that actually turned to taking another 4 hours of comfortable sleep! haha!

After the nap (ehem), it was finally time to head out and start the FUN!  First, we got ourselves lunch to fuel  up for the day's activities. This is where we found Dencio's at SM Baguio.

The weather in Baguio allows people to take long strolls.  You can actually just walk around town and not bother about the heat because the wind blows cold air that keeps you comfortable at all times.  So from SM Baguio, we started walking to the Pink Sisters (Convent) Church.

From the Pink Sisters, we went to the Botanical Garden.  This Garden was constructed under the Marcos regime, one of the many projects of Imelda in Baguio.  There were construction people working on some improvements in the area.  The last time we went here, it wasn't anything like this.  Good to see that this place is now being improved after many years.

 Dressed like the Native Women.
Entrance to the cave...
Beautiful Butterfly on a flower.
 Caught a bee too...
Dream-catcher sold in one of the many souvenir stores.

Then we continued our walk to Wright Park (after our side visit to St Joseph Church).

How would you like to ride a Pink Pony?

The journey then brought us to yet another attraction, the Mansion House.  This is where the President of the Philippines stays when in Baguio.

The next stop, Mines View is farther, that we needed to take a cab.

Wright Park. Mansion. Mines View.

From Mines View, we headed back to Burnham Park to take a boat ride in its famous lake.

It was starting to drizzle so we decided to take cover among one of the "ukay-ukay" shops near Burnham.  Ukay-ukay is a local term that describes the area where second-hand clothing from other countries are being sold for a cheap price... "ukay" means to dig-up, pertaining to the (original) previous way of looking/buying for a piece in a pile of clothings.  Now most of the sold clothings are on hangers... no longer in piles, but the term "ukay-ukay" remains.

Before heading back to SM Baguio, we decided to eat dinner at Cafe by the Ruins near City Hall.

Heading back to SM through the famous Session Road

Our first day Adventure ended with tired feet but with new memories shared between the sisters (and me of course).  We then decided to get a good nights' sleep to prepare for yet another FUN day...
